Happy Birthday To Me!

December 5th was my 28th birthday. I'm getting closer to that big 3-0. Yes. It is freaking me the freak out.

Honestly,
it feels like I just graduated yesterday. Maybe it's because I'm married to my HS sweetheart or maybe because I really did graduate yesterday and in the blink of an eye 10 years went by.

No one will ever know.

So, first I have a birthday announcement which I actually made on my birthday on Facebook but have yet to announce on the blog.

We're excited to be expecting a baby boy in April! I'd be just as excited to be expecting a baby girl but Travis was feeling very out numbered so he is super excited!

Yes, we have a list of names picked out. No, we will not announce the name until we actually name him which will be when he is born.

I don't expect I'll be posting much about pregnancy because quite frankly, it's boring. I will however mention that at 20 weeks I've already been fussed at for gaining "too much" weight. I gained "too much" with my other two pregnancies also. Let me just go ahead and tell my body to stop gaining so much weight....not. Here is my 21 week bump. Travis says I'm carrying higher than I did with the girls. I don't really notice things like that, all I know is that I feel like a whale and I can't imagine getting any bigger.

Second, since I'm 28 this year I thought I'd make a list of 28 things you may or may not know about me!

  1. I play the flute
  2. My favorite color is pink
  3. I dislike pickles. A lot.
  4. Summer is my favorite season
  5. I don't have as many tattoos as I want
  6. I've considered getting a job just so I can buy shoes
  7. I have a potty mouth
  8. Laundry will be the death of me
  9. One week before I was supposed to go to boot camp I found out I was pregnant
  10. I watch a lot of documentaries
  11. I think my babies are the cutest babies ever
  12. I've had a sewing machine for two years and have never used it
  13. My second toe is longer than my big toe
  14. I don't read (non-picture books) as often as I'd like
  15. I love celebrity gossip
  16. I despise talking on the phone, that's why I don't have one
  17. I don't drink alcohol
  18. My Pandora is filled with techno stations
  19. I can roll my belly
  20. I went to college for interior design and architectural drafting
  21. Vienna roast is my favorite roast of coffee
  22. I'm pretty darn lazy
  23. My husband is my best friend, we've been together 12 years
  24. I wish my hair was straight
  25. I have a younger brother
  26. I have a freckle on the bottom of one of my toes
  27. I love hiking
  28. My goal is to one day move to Hawaii
That's my list and it took a lot longer to write than it should have! Did you learn anything??

Happy Birthday Charlotte!

My sweet Charlotte is four today. I am so proud, she is growing up to be such a smart, sweet, and funny girl. She started off her day as a mermaid with a bath that was orange (with drops of food coloring). She painted some beads that we made out of air-dry clay, ran at the park (it was in the 70s!), ate hamburgers for lunch and grilled cheese for dinner and then had delicious Chocolate Wasted Cupcakes for dessert (her choice!) It was a perfect day!

Look at my little chocolate gremlin!

Apple-Pie Cake

Today is a special day, my sweet baby's second birthday. For her birthday instead of a cake I came across this recipe for Apple-Pie Cake and had to make it. We just went to an apple festival and came home with bags of apples so this was the perfect use for them.

 Happy Birthday Lexi!

Happy Birthday To Me AND A Pancake Love Affair

Hey, hey it's my birthday! Woooooooo me!

It's Sunday which means pancakes for breakfast (every Sunday!) so, I thought for my birthday I'd try something a little different, banana pancakes. I always get super yummy delicious banana pancakes for the girls when we go out to eat at a little joint at the Oceanfront called Doc Taylor's and figured since they can do it, I can do it! The result was perfection, pure pancake bliss. I was in love with my breakfast! To make things even better, I had whipping cream left over from Thanksgiving so I gave the task of making butter to Lexi who was sitting in her high chair watching me.

Perfect pancakes.
Homemade butter.
Yummy coffee.
What could be better...
(I suppose if my husband was home for my birthday that would have topped it all...)

I wish I was a writer then I would write a glorious ode to my pancake breakfast and the coffee that gets me through every. single. day.
But quite frankly I despise poetry and really English for that matter, most boring class in school (besides History) and I'm surprised I survived either of them!
I think I shall write them letters:

Dear Banana Pancake Breakfast,
You came together so effortlessly and tasted so delicious. I will never forget how you turned the perfect shade of golden brown and became just crispy enough to not be soggy when drenched with syrup. You filled me up for the first half of the day and I wasn't even hungry for lunch! I can't wait to meet you again someday soon.
Love Aleacia
PS. The kids really enjoyed you too but who cares about them....I'm talking about US

Dear Coffee (specifically Starbucks Espresso Roast),
I enjoy you every single day, multiple times a day. If I didn't have you I would probably collapse and not be able to move. People are always asking me where my energy comes from, it's because I have you coursing through my veins and instead of a brain I have a boom box playing Electronica. We've come such a long way from our first encounters after church on Sundays when I was a girl to receiving my first coffee maker to avoiding each other completely when I was pregnant. I'm sorry about those days but I've come back full force! You will always have a special place in my heart, especially you Espresso Roast. I searched a long time for you and finally found the perfect roast of coffee that I don't need to add crazy amounts of milk and sugar to, I like you just the way you are. I'll see you when I finish writing this letter
Love Aleacia
PS. The kids don't like you at all, in fact, you make Charlotte vomit which is alright with me because you're mine, ALL MINE!

BTW, my Mom got me a sewing machine for my birthday and I can't wait to start making super awesome creations and posting them. If you sew and have a favorite sewing blog let me know, I'd love to check it out!

Someone Slap Me

What do you mean she's only three?! Sometimes it feels like she's 16 with the attitude she gives!
What do you mean she's already three?! Where did my baby go? My Little Pookie...she made me a Mother...

I love you my beautiful girl. I cannot imagine living without you in my life. You make me laugh, cry, want to pull my hair out...all at once. I see the world in a new light because of you and for that I thank you.

Happy Birthday Charlotte!
